Therapy is like climbing a mountain together

As a psychologist, I engage in a mutual commitment with people, and as a passionate adventurer and hiker, I often compare therapy to climbing a mountain. Together, we stand still, find the way, and enjoy the view. Sometimes, we slip, fall, but we always get back up. My intention is to empower you so that you can determine the pace and direction of your own path. I try to achieve this by connecting with the here and now and connecting you with your intuition.

We become the observer of our own journey and experience it more consciously, with all the beauty and challenges that come with it. Then we explore how we can integrate this enriched map into your daily life.

How do I work?

In an initial conversation, I provide a safe framework in which we explore the themes you’re struggling with. After this conversation, we assess whether we can work together on addressing your needs, and we determine the specific focus of the treatment.

In subsequent sessions, we work on your needs through discussions and homework assignments. This approach allows for consideration of the body, mind, environment, and spirituality. I utilize techniques and methods from various psychotherapeutic approaches and coaching techniques. In addition to talk therapy, I incorporate body-oriented and/or meditation techniques, breathing exercises or breathwork, and trauma-informed practices.

Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT)

I primarily rely on interventions from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), a scientifically supported form of behavioral therapy where mindfulness is an essential component. ACT is a branch of positive psychology that recognizes pain and suffering as inevitable aspects of life. Instead of fighting the symptoms, ACT emphasizes the development of skills to better manage unpleasant thoughts, feelings, and sensations. By strengthening these skills, you become more resilient in dealing with distressing thoughts and emotions, enabling you to take more effective action and find deeper meaning and fulfilment in your life.
